April Project: Handy Baskets

SORRY FOR THE LACK OF PICTURES!!! GOOGLE IS BEING OBSTINANT.  I'LL TRY AGAIN LATER.

It was great to see so many members and guests for this project-oriented meeting!

We were saddened to learn of Janet Kime’s passing.

Show & Tell

Patti has been attending a Norwegian themed summer camp for years.  This quilt is made from the camp t-shirts.

Patti participated in a Roxanne class for bear paws years ago.  This quilt was the result.  She says one of the blocks isn’t oriented correctly.  Can you find the one?

Jean S made a new cross-body tote from a Pendelton wool and wax canvas.  The pattern is Fremont by Klum.  https://klumhouse.com/products/fremont-pattern

Lydia made this bag using splash fabric (laminated cotton).  It was a free pattern and is perfect for her niece's wet swimsuit.

Ruth made this baby quilt for donation entirely from her stash!

Lydia made another mondo bag.

Lydia made this quilt from a jelly roll. She says she’ll do “no more bias!”

Sandra O’s niece made both of these quilts and Leslie quilted them.

Cork “Handy Baskets”

The instructions were a little confusing, so we all appreciated Leslie’s help.

Some of us put the cork on the outside of the basket and some put it on the inside.

Next Month: BOMs

Joann and Terry will present blocks.

Joann handed out a cut list:

    Background: 5" x 15" strip
    1st color: 5" x 12 1/2" strip
    2nd color: 2 1/2" x 17" strip
    3rd color: 5' X 15" strip

Watch your email for Terry’s cut list.

Bring your sewing machine, fabrics, etc. to the May meeting.
