November BOM

Only 11 of us made it to this month's sew-in.

By voice agreement, we will continue to rent this room for 2024.  Eight months will be at the current rate, and the last 4 months of 2024 will be at $10 per hour higher rate.  We will also start the meetings at 6:45 and leave the room at 8:45.

SHOW & TELL

Charlene made this row for a summer-themed quilt with another group.  Those items on the clothesline are 3-D!

Gail made this as part of a previous mystery in this group (maybe the 1yd challenge).  And the backing is beautiful too.

Patti picked up two UFOs from our August meeting.  One became this runner.

Another became this reversible apron.

Hope has been making fabric boxes for gifts.

Sandra O. made this quilt for her granddaughter.  The backing fabric choice was inspired by the recipient's home.

Her granddaughter's friend, who recently lost her home to a fire, will receive this quilt.

Jean R. brought this, the first of the three quilts we started as a group in September.  It will be donated to Youth Cares.

Block of the Month sew-in

Sandra O. presented a block,  Favorite Teacher.

You needed 3 fabrics.

From the light fabric, cut

    • 8  3"x3" squares (for half-square triangles)
    • 4  2.5"x2.5" squares
    • 2  1.5"x6.5"
    • 2  1.5"x8.5"

From the medium fabric, cut

    • 8  3"x3" squares (for half-square triangles)

From the dark fabric, cut

    • 1  6.5"x6.5" square

Jean S was not able to attend, so did not present a block.

Here are the half-square triangles and other pieces of her block.

Here's how the pieces go together.

December

Holiday party

Food, games and table decoration contest with an optional gift exchange.

Anyone who wishes to participate in the gift exchange should bring a wrapped mug rug.

Remember to bring table runners or other seasonal decor.  We will sit in groups of four and pool the items we brought to decorate our table.

January

This is our event planning meeting.  Each of us should start thinking about what programs we want to have next year.
