October's Auffle!

There was very little Show & Tell.

Hope made a Turning 20 quilt top.

Barb brought her finished appliqué from Sue's August workshop.

She also brought two pumpkin runners, one for her daughter and one for herself.

For November, bring bowl-making supplies

Supplies :

Rope - 40-50 feet of 3/16” or 1/4” braided cotton or cotton/poly.    Just be sure, whatever you buy, it is NOT loosely woven or it won’t hold shape.

Lydia orders from here:    https://www.knotandrope.com/collections/cotton-rope

Or buy it at Home Depot by the foot. They don’t always have cotton or blend, nor white or cream.

She's have also used other types of rope for special projects(like glow in the dark rope from Walmart)

Walmart also has rope in the hardware section.

She has bought rope at Big Lots, but that is hit and miss.

Fabric - fat eight batik or cotton,  cut into strips no less than ¾”,  or ribbons, yarn, etc.   scraps are good.

Double sided fusible - 10” sq

IF you are going to cover the bottom of your bowl. You will also need fabric this size.

Scotch tape

Glue stick that dries clear

Scissors

Machine needles size 90/14 or larger - sharps or universal or jeans .   I like jeans/denim needles best.

Thread to match the rope,  or contrasting if you are doing practice only.  It helps to see the stitching if it doesn’t match.

If you are covering your rope with fabric—pick thread to match .

Sewing machine WITH A ZIG ZAG STITCH —an open or clear foot is desirable.    You won’t have time to share with a friend, so bring your own machine.
