July meeting: constructing a large quilt top for donation

This month we made the top for a charity quilt.  This post begins with show and tell, followed by the evening’s program, and finishes with a preview of the next two month’s meetings.

Show & Tell

This Irish Chain is the first quilt Linda has made. It is for her granddaughter.

Patti made this kitty bag for a friend, as a thank you gift.

Patti made this tree quilt using the speedy half square triangle method.

Leslie made this mystery block quilt

Leslie used a superhero print on the front and dinosaurs on the back.

Leslie made this transportation-themed quilt and it has a matching backing.

Justine made this Unicorn quilt and put butterflies on the back.

Justine made a Harry Potter quilt, and its back is thematically-matched.

Main Program

Jean R asked us to bring blocks that were blue and/or orange.  Our goal was to make a quilt top that will be donated to Youth Care when finished.  Another group Jean belongs to will put borders on it.

The blocks:

Gail's

Leslie's

Sandra O's

Linda's

Jean's

Justine's

Ruth made 6!
