June charity sew-in

We had some orders of business to address before the main theme of the June meeting.

1. For most of us, October means Auffle.  So the schedule has been adjusted to return this popular pairing. For the remainder of the calendar year:

July -  Patti B, Block (block 6)

This is a sew in: you can finish up the June charity quilt, or work on previously presented blocks, and work on Patti's block.  Bring your machines.

August -  SPECIAL LOCATION: Hamlin Park.  Bring a dessert to share.  Bring Show & Tell.

September - Terry and Leslie will be give us a block printing demonstration, and we'll do this on totes.  Details will come closer to the event.

October -  AUFFLE!

November - This is a Demonstration month; Jean S will demonstrate key fobs; Lydia will demonstrate her quick and easy zip bag.  Details will be provided well in advance.

December - Holiday Party. Marlene, Jean R and Justine will organize it.

 2. We are nearly out of the labels we have been sewing onto our donation quilts.  Do we want to acquire more?  Tell Lydia how you feel.

3.  We had discussed a Featherweight class in a previous meeting.  Sue took the class and said it was excellent.

4. Lydia is also collecting our contact info for a new roster of members.

I thank Lydia for taking such good notes while I was distracted.

SHOW & TELL

Terry showed us a BOM she got some time ago from now-closed Calico Basket.  Leslie quilted it.

Jean S is wearing linen pants and a Kaffe Fassett print shirt that she learned to make at Quilting Mayhem.

Jean also got this quilt back from Leslie who quilted it. You might remember seeing the top recently.

Jean made this charity quilt from the kit provided last month.  Its back is cute, too.

These are Jean's blocks for the BOM patterns presented last month.

Leslie made these cats for her 4-month-old grandniece.  It's an Elizabeth Harmon pattern.

This top came from the Auffle and Leslie hand quilted it with embroidery floss in the traditional 1/4" away pattern.

Sandra O is donating this Needle & I row robin from some time ago.

Sandra showed us this charity quilt that Justine made from the kit provided last month.  Check out the dinosaurs on the back.

Sandra made this one for her niece.  It was a panel print she found at Paisley Duck.

Marlene made this charity quilt from the kit provided last month.  It's identical to the kit Justine had.

Marlene also made the BOM blocks from last month.

Jean R made this charity quilt from the kit provided last month.  Check out its plaid back!

Sandra P made this charity quilt top from the kit provided last month.

Sandra also made the Blackford's Beauty block that was presented last month.

MORE SEWING FOR CHARITY

Thanks to Gail and Sandra O, we had lots of kits to sew into donation quilts.
