June Charity Sew-In

We had lots of Show & Tell before starting to sew. And we received cutting instructions for the blocks we will make in the July meeting (see the bottom of this post).

News:

  • eighteen of us have paid dues for the coming year
  • remember that donations on the small table are $0.25 each
  • Sandra O. has volunteered to be the second block presenter for November
  • July - bring your block pieces, sewing machine and supplies for the sew-in
  • August - bring the projects you just don't want anymore; it's the UFO exchange.  Ice cream will be provided too.

Show & Tell

Jean S brought a table runner that Leslie quilted for her.

She also brought three new purses.  The first is waxed canvas.

And here's a ideal carrier for her cell phone when she goes for walks.

Sue made this one from the kit provided at May's meeting.

She made this one from her own fabric.

Ruth made one using her own fabric and strip pieced it for a speedier construction.

She also made these table toppers.

Lydia made one from the kit she picked up for Ruth who didn't use it.

And then she made another from her own fabric.

and she made this table runner for her sister (front is left, back is right)

she also made this trolley travel bag -- it rides on top of her machine case or luggage

Barbara made one from the provided kit

Marlene made one from the provided kit

Justine made one from the provided kit

and another from whole-cloth monkey socks fabric

Jean R brought 2.

Sandra O brought 2.

Sandra P made one from the kit.

All together, we completed 15 quilts for Mary's Place.  Six more are nearing completion.
