First, some good news.
Lydia received a total of 115 cards for the residence facility! Good job, everyone!
Show & Tell
Jean S.
Tula Pink's Nebula Star that's been two years in the making. She used a Jaybird ruler and Tula Pink fabric.
This is Tula Pink again, with Jaybird's Night Sky pattern.
This is the Tula Pink backing for both of Jean's Tula Pink tops. Isn't it eye-catching?
Ruth & Lydia make clothesline bowls in another group.

Two views of Lydia's bowl-making binge.
We managed to convince Lydia to demonstrate bowl-making in November.
If you want to try it on your own, here are some nuggets of advice:
- Clothesline is easier with all cotton braided cord, 3/16" diameter
- Use a Jeans needle, or a size 100
- Use a wide zigzag stitch
- Polyester thread might be best, but cotton worked fine for Lydia
- Use a glue stick to adhere the wrapping fabric to the clothesline; some put glue on the fabric, others put it on the cord
- Fabric should be cut 3/4" wide, and it will lay flatter if cut as bias strips
- Batik fabric is a good choice for fray resistance
- Alternatives to fabric include embroidery thread and yarn
- There's a good tutorial here.
Lydia
She made this quilt. Front on the left, back on the right.
This is the Castle in the Sky Mystery that she showed us as an unquilted top in March 2020.
She made these zipper bags to be donations for a dog rescue charity.
Sandra O.
Just got this back from Leslie. It's a Pat Sloan BOM, and the backing is beautiful too.
This is another made from that Pat Sloan BOM. The animals have family significance.
Justine
She got the parts of this quilt at the Auffle from Marlene. The back is part retro, part modern. It's a gift for her friend who loves these colors.
Leslie
This quilt is made from blocks that we all made (from back when we used to do that).
These stars are a Carol Doak challenge and are foundation-pieced.
This is a simple block that yields an interesting larger pattern.
Marlene
This quilt is also a Castle in the Sky mystery from our pre-pandemic challenge. Great backing fabric.
Pam
Kaffe Fassett fabrics provide the color on both the front and the back.
Past BOMs
A number of people made Sue's BOM.
Wool Appliqué Demo, finishes
Three completed wool appliqué pot stickers were shared, from Sandra P, Lydia, and Leslie.
