August in the Park

We had a nice respite from the heat by meeting in the park where it was noticeably cooler.

There was a nice variety of finger foods that 10 of us brought and Leslie's sister joined us, to the delight of everyone.  Most of us remember her daughter who visited a couple of years ago.

SHOW & TELL

Leslie finished quilting Sandra O's quilt.  Terry will take it to her but showed us first.

Jean R made this from a pattern designed by Melody at the Senior Center.  She used up old fat quarters and the backing came from the Auffle.

Patti made a bunch of quilts for donation.
This one has a minky backing.

This one is the same top as the previous photo, but the backing is "I love you"
in tiny red print on a white background.

She says we've seen this one before, before it was quilted.

She made this quilt from our guild's mystery blocks.

NEXT MONTH

We will be led in two projects that could be used as gifts.

1. Barb will help us make snowmen.  We need to bring white and black thread and hand sewing needles to participate.

2. Lydia will lead us in constructing gift card holders.  We need to bring :

A sewing machine

Two 14”x7” pieces of the same fabric OR two complementary fabrics; avoid directional fabrics.

One 14”x7” piece of lightweight fusible interfacing.

Matching or complementary thread for your machine.
