July's meeting: Bingo and Ice Cream

It was a fun meeting.  The ice cream social went well, everyone enjoyed the selections.

Show & Tell

Ruth

Ruth participated in a block exchange on FaceBooks's PNW quilters group and this scrappy cross quilt is the result.

Her whirling star quilt was a Roxanne Carter Christmas mystery quilt.  The backing has a lot of visual interest.

We all loved the wavy table runner she made!

Jean

Jean made this gorgeous Star quilt in gray, black and white.  The second photo shows the spotted 108" wide backing.  Some of the stars show through on this very sunny day.

Deanna

Deanna fell out of bed and broke her wrist!  She has it splinted for 6 weeks.  Please send healing thoughts her way.
She made these blocks for her sister, then decided it was better to spend actual time with her sister instead of making her a quilt, so she decided to donate them to the Auffle and Leslie got them.  Then Leslie made them into a quilt and donated it at a retreat.  Deanna loved it so much so she bought it back! It has come full circle!

Pam

Pam made this creatively-pieced Round the World quilt.  Shown with its starry backing.

This is her beautiful Log Cabin, front first, back second.

Justine

Justine made some rope bowls like Ruth and Lydia showed us earlier this year.

She made this wool appliqué mat after Deanna inspired us.

She made pin /needle cushions inside Nesting Dolls. This way they can travel with her.  She also made one for Deanna as a thank you gift for helping her with wool appliqué.

The each doll is shown with two photos of the inner pin cushion.

Block of the Month

Leslie presented the next block in our mostly-monthly BOM:  Tennessee.

These are her pieces, pinned together.

June's meeting: A sew-in

In June we finished the top for the Red, White & Blue quilt we started before the pandemic.  First, though, there was Show & Tell.

Show & Tell

Hope finished a Broken Dishes quilt.  Those are flowers in watering cans on the back.

Gail finished a scarf.

Jean S. made a purse/craft bag out of old denim jeans.  The pictures are the front and back.

A number of people made blocks from Terry's BOM pattern.  And one more was made from Sue's.

Four more blocks were made to finish the plan for the Red, White & Blue quilt.

Under construction: It was put-away in a partially finished condition in June 2019.

3 Singer Featherweights came to help!

The finished top.
