Our next meeting is Monday, June 10. We will be having a Red/White/Blue work party to make some quilts for Children's. The general idea is to put together tops that are throw/twin size. Please bring: red/white/blue (and variations thereof--such as cream/navy/etc.) fabric. You can also bring completed blocks--9.5" size. If you have 2.5" strips in those colors, bring them for sashing. If you have good border fabric, bring that. If you have backing fabric you'd like to donate, bring that as well. We'll try to put together several completed tops if possible.
Additionally, we'll need some machines, cutting mats, rulers, rotary cutters. We have an iron in the closet, and a small ironing board.
The next several meetings will be:
July - Bingo & Ice Cream
August - Work Party (and we were thinking of making bags for the women's shelter)
September - Still need an idea and volunteer(s) to execute it
October - Aufful
For all of these events we need help. Please think about volunteering -
JULY -
A couple of people to get prizes (can use some funds from N&I--or donate) we need 10/12 total
Someone to buy bingo cards
Someone to stop & buy ice cream bars on the way to the meeting
AUGUST -
Not so much a person as supplies. We will need hand towels (for the bags) and items to put in them. Regular sized shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower gel, deodorant, maybe scrubbers (or we can make those?) If you see things on sale and can buy some extra to donate, please do so.
SEPTEMBER -
An idea. And volunteer(s) to coordinate
OCTOBER -
We still need a coordinator or coordinators
